Berawal dari cuitan SpecterDev yg memperlihatkan video PlayStation 4 Jailbreak dengan firmware 9.00, beberapa warganet ada yg meragukannya sebagai candaan saja. Znullptr kemudian mencuit bahwa hal tersebut bukan candaan. Ia juga mengeklaim bahwa kernel exploit dikembangkan ini juga berdampak (bekerja) di PlayStation 5. Hanya saja lead developer mereka belum memiliki PlayStation5 untuk mengujinya.
