The shopping malls wall was covered by a giant LED screen as wide as 8,000 square meters and uses more than 3,000 pixels LED. This giant screen made by Iris Worldwide Indonesia was also named as The Worlds Largest LED Illuminated Facade by Guinness World of Record, making it the biggest LED display in the world.

In the last few days, theres something interestingly different displayed in this screen since there are monsters appeared on this screen and interact with each other. Yep, these interactive monsters are the work of Toge Productions, Jakarta-based game developer that was also widely known as Infectonator series creator. Since the middle of last year, they teamed up with Iris Worldwide to create a form of social interaction on the screen to entertain Jakarta citizens that were trapped in traffic jam or just happen to be around the block.

These monsters, which were referred as Taman Anggrek Monsters, were developed by Toge Productions by utilizing prototypes theyve shown during Casual Connect Asia 2013 and Game Developers Gathering 2013. In the prototype, visitors can post a tweet from their twitter account by using certain hashtag. Not only posting a tweet, the uniquely hashtagged post will summon zombies or humans in the displayed game. This concept draws many visitors interest to try the game, including me.

The prototype shown during Casual Connect Asia 2013

The same concept then implemented into Taman Anggrek Monsters that utilizes the giant LED screen made by Iris Worldwide. Similar to the prototype previously shown, you can summon these monsters by posting a tweet with #TAMONSTERS hashtag. Your monster will appear in the giant screen and brings your tweet. Your monster then will meet another tweeters monster, thus enabling you to interactively communicate with other people in the giant screen.

This is what happens when you get to play with the largest LED screen in south east asia #tamonsters are born pic.twitter.com/yt0LweO5Hz

— Kris Antoni (@kerissakti) November 4, 2013

A very interesting concept that also entertains the passerby around the shopping mall area since the traffic there is quite packed. Toge Productions also reveals in their blog that this is just the beginning. Iris Worldwide and Mall Taman Anggrek already prepared several other steps such as game mode, mobile applications, also challenges with prize from Mall Taman Anggrek, discount vouchers!
